As a very new initiative we don't know exactly where Calais will go in the future. Among the options might be things that allow the metadata to be either searched (unlikely) or somehow syndicated (slightly more likely).
While neither of these are in the plan right now - we wanted to keep options open while preserving user's privacy. So - if you never want to be included in these (possible future services) - check no. If you're a blogger or publisher and think that more exposure of your metadata to the world could be a good thing for clickbacks, etc - you might want to check yes.
