Tagaroo plug in isn't working for me
Tagaroo plug in isn't working for me
Posted on: Mon, 05/19/2008 - 20:24
Hi. I like the idea of this WP plug in but cannot get it to work. Can you help me troubleshoot? I am running WP 2.5.0. Here's what I did:
- downloaded tagarro wp plug in and copied it to the correct directory on server
- enabled the plug in in WP
- gave it my tagaroo api key which it accepted
- edited a blog post and also tried creating a new one
- in either case I see the 2 new tagarro property boxes but they are empty
I tried this several times with variations and have the same result. Any ideas? Thanks!

Can you tell us what Browser you're using, what version of the browser - and if you know it what version of Java you have installed.
Generally when we've seen this it's due to use of an unsupported browser or an old or damaged installation of Java on the client machine.
Another good test is to try editing your blog from another machine. If it works from there - we know it's the client side we need to work on.
Let us know, we'll get you up and running.
Regards,
Tom
I am running FireFox 2.0.0.14 on Mac 10.5.2, with this Java:
java version "1.5.0_13"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_13-b05-237)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_13-119, mixed mode, sharing)
By the way, it works no better in Safari
Well, I'm afraid we're going to have to run through the diagnosis 101 exercise. Before starting I'd really suggesting trying this from a completely different machine and see what happens. That will really help to narrow down the potential issues. I use this myself with the same version of Firefox and java on a Mac and am not having problems - so it's not *just* the browser.
So,
1) Disable every other extension in Firefox, restart Firefox - any changes?
2) Disable every other plugin in Wordpress, try with your slimmed down Firefox from (1) above - any changes?
Keep trying - we'll get it working.
Regards,
One other question - are you perhaps living behind a particularly restrictive firewall?
I'm getting the same issue. Installed plugin but I am not seeing any tag or image suggestions.
I'm getting the same issue. empty boxes. i've tried in different computers and browsers and the same thing happens. I had problems getting the app to connect because of restrictions in my hosting company, but I had them open the outbound connection, using the port and ip info i got from the calais team. I got the plug in to connect, and the boxes appeared in the write post template but then are empty, wont work
